Members of CIGA have organized a series of events during the last few years. They were published at gc.com and were attended not only by geocachers of Central Illinois but far beyond. This page documents short reports on some of the events while the gc.com webpages are linked on the sidebar. This was an extremely successful event with good attendance and really great food. Kerstin placed six new caches in the park and we all had a great time searching for these (when we weren't stuffing ourselves).CIGA and all the attendees appreciate the hard work that went into making this event a success.

Trick or Treat - Decatur - Oct 22, 2005
The Fall CIGA Event was held on October 22, 2005 at Spitler Woods State Park in Mt. Zion, IL. It was hosted by the Decatur crew of Team MZFD, 2golfers, Brother R and Nicole. The event had a Halloween theme with decorations, carved pumpkins and candy in some of the caches. There were 8 event only caches including 1 night cache.
There were 48 people in attendance on this chilly fall evening. We asked for people to bring something good to eat and we were not disappointed. Chili, vegetable soup and hot chocolate were a big hit with the crowd. Fifteen brave camping cachers spent the night at the group camp area. The hot breakfast on Sunday morning was attended by 18 people.
A special Thank You goes to CYBret / Geocacher-U, S10 and Stefanie of Team MZFD for their contributions to the door prizes. Also, a big Thank You goes to gossamar for the fire wood which kept us all cozy warm. We would like to thank all of the people who attended because they are the ones that made this event a lot of fun.

MOGA - Apr 9, 2005
Several CIGA members attended M.O.G.A and the weekend of April 9th, 2005.M.O.G.A. 2005 by St. Louis Area Geocachers Assn. (GCKR4A) Missouri.

CIGA members (from the cache log) were COACHMAN12, 2 golfers, Brother R, Team MZFD, NoLemon and Boo 2.
(And it looks like from the picture several other members have not logged the event yet.)
Normal Breakfast Cache - Bloomington/Normal - Nov 6, 2004
The first CIGA event cache was held on November 6th, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. The theme was a Breakfast Cache and was held at a Shooters Buffet in Normal. The CIGA board group was hoping to have at least 50-people sign up for the event and we surpassed that goal by a long shot. Nearest estimates for the event cache were somewhere between 70-80 people. In addition, about 60 travel bugs were brought to exchange and mingle with the group.There were also 6 event only caches hidden in town by GOSSAMAR and ALACRITY to which over 25 people(login in names) took to the urban jungle to seek out. A brief discussion was held by GOSSAMAR, PATTYTRACKER, and PEORIA BILL thanking all of those attendees for making this event such a success and to give them an overview of what CIGA was all about. A special thanks went out to PENGYOU for the work on the CIGA website. Furthermore, people had to opportunity to sign up and become a member of CIGA for a $10.00 yearly dues fee.
The event breakfast concluded at around 11:00 a.m.
