Dear Geocacher,

Please give me the opportunity to welcome you to the world of Geocaching on behalf of CIGA and all its members. Geocaching can be many things to many people, but one thing about Geocaching we all have in common is the enjoyment and satisfaction we all gain from the sport. So, welcome to the world of Geocaching!

If I could take a minute of your time, I would also like to briefly introduce you to an organization that is dedicated to the betterment and growth of the sport and support to geocachers just like yourself. The organization I speak of is called Central Illinois Geocaching Association (CIGA for short). We are a small but growing club that aims to promote the sport of Geocaching through Event Cache listings, local educational support of Geocaching classes, and through other public service venues. The CIGA group is governed by a group of dedicated board members that hold open club meetings every other month in downtown Normal at The Coffeehouse. Our meetings are held on varying Sunday's of the month at 4:00 p.m. in the downstairs meeting room. These meetings are open to any and all geocachers who might have some input on local events or any other questions related to geocaching and CIGA.

This letter is distributed locally by CIGA members to new geocachers in the area to help provide an opportunity to meet other geocachers, to learn more about geocaching and to let you know there is a Geocaching club that represents your area and interests.

In closing, we would like to welcome you to the wonderful sport of geocaching and invite you to our next Event Cache Listing which can be found, besides on www.geocaching.com, on this Homepage (News) and on the CIGA Forum under Events. Event Caches are an excellent and easy way to make new geocaching buddies and also that ever needed phone-a-friend number you needed that time out there in the woods. If you should have any questions in regards to our club or anything else geocaching, please feel free to contact any of the board members for more information.

Thank you,
The Board & Club members of CIGA
